Below is a list of most commonly asked questions.
Freediving
Medical Form
Before we can take any student in the water, a diving medical form must be completed. You can find a copy here to download. If you answer "Yes" to any of the questions on the medical you must go to a doctor to have a medical check before you can dive. You can either do this before coming to Dahab or once you are here. There is a doctor here who will be able to assess you and complete.
What's the difference between SSI and Molchanovs Courses?
They are both worldwide freediving agencies. The requirements for the course and the theory material is slightly different but all main themes are similar. We offer both Agencies currently. Jack can teach both SSI and Molchanov's and Sam can teach SSI.
Can I freedive every day?
We recommend including rest days into your diving plans. A schedule of maximum 2 or 3 dive days and then one day off is optimum for training. We also recommend where possible having a couple of spare days in your trip to account for anything that may be unexpected: ear or sinus troubles, jet lag etc...
I did my first course with another Agency do I need to start from the beginning?
No, for most agencies we have a direct crossover. For smaller or unrecognised agencies we can do a one day evaluation day to check your level before starting the next level.
Dahab
Visa
Before coming to Dahab please check your Visa Requirements. Most people can buy a Visa on arrival at Sharm El Sheikh airport for a stay of up to 30 days. There are another couple of Visa options but you will need to ensure that you get the correct one for your stay. There are also 14 day "Sinai Only" Visa, and 6 month Visa options (only available after purchasing the 30 day visa and this requires two trips to the Visa Office in Sharm).
Temperature
The water temperature in Dahab varies from 21'C to 27'C. The coldest months are December to March and the Warmest is August to October. If you are unsure of which wetsuit you should bring drop us a message.
Air Temperature also varies greatly through the year. July and August are the hottest months, in August most days are around or above 40'C.
